Do I have to take the door off to measure?
Yes, for an exact match. The roller sits in a pocket at the bottom of the moving panel. See the panel removal guide, and use a helper.
Steel or nylon wheels?
Steel or stainless wheels carry heavy doors and last longer. Nylon wheels are quieter and fine for lighter doors. Near the coast, stainless is the best choice.
What is a tandem roller?
A housing with two wheels instead of one. It spreads the weight and is common on heavy and impact-rated doors.
My roller has no brand name. Can you still match it?
Usually. The measurements and a clear photo from the side and the end are enough for most rollers.
