What moves the price

Why do impact doors cost more to repair?

Impact panels are much heavier, so they need heavier rollers and often two technicians. The glass itself also costs more.

Is DIY really cheaper?

For cleaning, adjusting, handles and seals, yes. Roller replacement saves money if you have a helper and the right part; a wrong part or broken glass costs more than a pro.

Why is my quote higher than this?

Common reasons: three or four panels, oversized or impact glass, heavy corrosion, a damaged track or upper-floor access. Ask the pro to itemize it.

When does a new door make more sense?

When the frame is bent or corroded through, or you need an impact rating. Read our repair-or-replace post for a full checklist.
